Each beautifully designed room offers its individual charm
Kijani’s history started in the early 1980’s; eccentric explorer and famous hunter, Bunny Allen, found passion in transforming ancient ruins into beautiful homes using the typically Swahili architectural influences. The multiple cultures that sailed the trade winds including Syrian and Persian travellers are all part of the rich architectural history of Lamu, each leaving a touch of each of their traditions and styles.
Every one of our rooms offers unique views with locally crafted Swahili decor throughout.
Our rustic Superior Rooms offer an enchanting experience with Swahili decor, ochre washed walls and a spacious bedroom area, each with an ocean view. So you can feel the ocean breeze as you enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner from the privacy of your very own terrace.
Our homely Classic en-suite rooms offer a comfortable and peaceful environment, providing the perfect sanctuary for your stay. Each with a garden or ocean view. You’ll only ever be just a stone’s throw from the sea!
